Day 3, Children’s Miracle Network
Sonya, a SAHM to a beautiful little girl, can be found at Penny Pinching Parent, where she shares the latest deals, coupon codes and specials from across the web, and at Happy Apple Studios, where she designs beautiful blogs (like this one!).

Many of you have probably heard of Children’s Miracle Network. You have probably seen Marie Osmond and John Schneider on television hosting a telethon or you may have even seen those paper hot air balloons at your local gas station and been bugged asked if you would like to buy a balloon to help out kids.
For many people, that’s all they know about Children’s Miracle Network.
Well, today I feel so proud that I get to tell you more. I get to share a few great facts with you about a wonderful organization and hopefully touch your heart so that you will join us in our “31 Days Of Giving” and give see how far your $1 can go.
There are so many things that I would love to share with you about the Children’s Miracle Network, but I decided to narrow it down to the top three reasons that I think you should support the Children’s Miracle Network, plus I wanted to share why this organization is so dear to my heart.
*These are the hospitals in our communities. The Children’s Miracle Network is actually an alliance of 170 children’s hospitals across the United States (and Canada). These hospitals treat and impact the lives of approximately 17 million children each year. This is more than any other children’s organization in the world. These hospitals are the ones that treat your kids, your grandkids, your neighbor’s kids, your nieces and nephews.*
*EVERY child is treated. In order to be a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital; you have to have an “open door policy.” What that means is that these hospitals will treat every single child that comes through their door with the absolute best state-of-the-art quality of care… even if there family cannot pay or does not have insurance. These hospitals serve every single child regardless of age, race, religion, illness or financial background.
*Funds raised stay local. When you give to a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in your area, the money you give stays local to help children in your community. This money is used to make sure if your child ever needs it, they will have the best care possible. It’s used to provide charity care, to treat children with life threatening illnesses and diseases, to provide education for families, to treat kids who come into the Emergency Room for stitches and stomach bugs, etc. It’s used to buy the latest and greatest equipment for the hospital and to buy specialized equipment, tiny equipment for areas such as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit …life saving equipment that any parent will always be eternally grateful for.
Why is the Children’s Miracle Network is close to my heart?
My daughter was born prematurely. She is a lively soul and just couldn’t wait until the timer on the oven went off. So, even though my daughter thought she was done and ready to be born, her little body had other ideas. After her birth, she was rushed to our local Children’s Miracle Network hospital where she received what I know was the absolute best care a premature infant can receive.
Despite the fact that we were a family who did have insurance, we still benefited from the fact that this hospital is a part of the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). Because this hospital is a part of the network, they have the best technology; the latest and most advanced equipment and they have the best-trained doctors and staff. Because of our CMN hospital, my husband and I are getting ready to celebrate my daughter’s second Christmas and her 2nd birthday in a few weeks and because of our CMN hospital, our daughter is a healthy and happy toddler.
So I hope, for your children or maybe even your grandchildren, that you will consider joining the “One Dollar Give” and make a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network.
To donate $1 to Children’s Miracle Network to help provide the finest medical care possible for children across the United States, click here. Please use “One Dollar Give” in the tribute portion of the donation form. After you’ve donated, come back and vote in the poll so that we can count donations!
(Yes, the poll offers you the choice between “Yes.” and “Yes.” because I didn’t think we really needed to count the “No” answers, and the poll required two choices! Hey, it’s not a perfect system, but it’ll work!)

CMN is a great charity and I’m proud to be able to help with this! I have a friend who gave birth to premature twins and they spent the first few months of their lives at a CMN hospital, where they were given the best care possible. They are now healthy 5-year-olds and I know their family feels blessed and so thankful for CMN being a part of their lives. Thank you for sharing your story and giving us the chance to donate to such a great charity!
