How much difference can *I* make?
That is the question I’ve been asking myself for the last week and it is the premise behind this campaign.
I’ve come across countless charity organizations recently that I’d love to support – organizations that are in the trenches, touching the lives of children and women and families and giving them a foot up so that they can turn around and change the lives of those around them.
And yet, like many of you, I’m sure, our income is limited, and I can only give so much. Do I divide the amount that I’ve scrimped and saved between a dozen organizations? Do I choose one and ignore the rest? How can I make a difference with what I have?
And then I realized…the answer is not in what *I* can do by myself. It’s in what can be done when we all band together, when we pool our resources. When I mentioned the idea behind The $1 Give to Tara, she shared my enthusiasm for a campaign that works with existing organizations and other bloggers to see just what this blogosphere can do when it works together.
The $1 Give will launch on December 1st for 31 days of giving. In the meantime, stay tuned because we’re pulling this together as quickly as we can and there will be lots of updates over the next ten days.

Can you just explain how this works more. Will there be link to specific charities’ sites that have paypal donation buttons, are you a clearing house for the donations? Can anyone write about any charity or do we need to make sure they have a way to accept online donations? etc. I am really excited about this and have added the button to my site!
Hey! I think that this is a great idea. I would love to be a participating blogger and advertise/blog about this on my site throughout the month of December.
